Dear Families and Educational Partners,
The California School for the Blind (CSB) is excited to invite students to participate in our CSB Summer Academy 2026, a free, weeklong summer program designed for students with visual impairments from ages 9-22.
If you haven't already applied and are interested in applying, please follow the links below to our application and required documents. In addition to the application, please complete the medical packet. Families are encouraged to begin the process early, as physician signatures will be needed.

🏫 Program Highlights
  • Held on CSB’s Fremont campus
  • Students grouped with peers of similar ages
  • Interest-based learning aligned with the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC)
  • Students may commute daily or stay in free on-campus dorms
  • No cost for tuition, housing, meals, or activities
📅 Program Courses and Dates (June 2026):
Week 1: June 8–12 | Ages 13+
Courses include:
  • Camp Abilities

  • ArtVenture

  • Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons

  • Guitar Week

  • Paws and Pools

Week 2: June 15–19 | Ages 9–13
Courses include:

  • Camp Abilities

  • ArtVenture

  • Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons

  • Doggy Paddle

  • Parkitects: Build Your Own Park Map

Week 3: June 22–26 | Ages 13+
Courses include:
  • Camp Abilities
  • ArtVenture
  • Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons
  • Build a Band
  • Nourish & Flourish
  • Chronically Online Chronicles
