FYI. See highlight below.
Any news if Steve would attend too? Also, any chance you could bring your big wheeled uni too? That thing is very intriguing to people.

OPRHP Bike to Work Day
Friday
May 20, 2011

Plans for OPRHP’s first annual Bike to Work Day for Albany and Peebles Island staff are rolling along smoothly as we continue to gear up for the events on Friday, May 20, 2011. Whether you walk, bike, rollerblade, or paddle a canoe down the Hudson River, we want to encourage everyone to think about using a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation for their trip to work that day. The organizing committee is ready and willing to help with the logistics of your trip and other special considerations that may come into play such as:
We’ll have coffee and bagels set up in the lobby of Agency 1 on the morning of the event so you can refuel after your ride/walk to work. To add some fun to the day there will also be a unicycle demonstration out on the Plaza at lunchtime.
Attached is a brief registration form. If you plan to participate in Bike to Work Day, please fill out the form and return it to either Michele Phillips (Peebles Island staff) or Chuck Parmentier (Agency Bldg. 1 staff). We would appreciate receiving the registration form by Monday, May 16, 2011. You can, of course, register after the 16th, but we would like to have a general idea of the number of participants a few days prior to the event. Even if you currently walk or bike to work every day, please fill out a registration form so we can include you in the event and recognize your efforts.
As a reminder, to provide an incentive and encourage a little friendly competition we’ll be tracking the floor with the greatest number of participants, the floor with the greatest percentage of employees participating, the individual(s) who rode the farthest, and the employees who biked/walked to work every day during the week so we can recognize these achievements after the event.
The 20th floor is off to a great start in the floor to floor competition as Commissioner Harvey has indicated that, schedule permitting, she intends to ride her bike to work on that Thursday or Friday when she is in New York City (as she used to do when she lived and worked in New York City) and we hear that Executive Deputy Commissioner Andy Beers may also be planning to ride to work on the 20th. We’d love to have other floors take up the challenge and see how many riders and walkers they can turn out for the event.

We hope to see you and your bike on May 20th!
