Peacock got six exclusive regular-season games, one each year from 2023 to 2028, in the deal. That includes the Week 1 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers in So Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 6.

Netflix joined the party Wednesday, announcing that two Christmas Day games in 2024 will stream on the platform. As part of a three-season deal, the streaming giant will broadcast at least one Christmas Day game in 2025 and 2026, too.

Bryan Cranston might be best known for his celebrated portrayal of Walter White in the hit AMC series Breaking Bad, but he also put in an acclaimed performance in a subsequent crime drama series. Originally airing for two seasons on Showtime, the series is now finding a larger audience since debuting on Netflix.

The series, called Your Honor, was originally developed as a miniseries meant to span a single season. Because of its high viewership and acclaim, however, Showtime had another season made for the series. The episodes aired on Showtime between 2020 and 2023, and both seasons were added to Netflix on May 31. Since its arrival on the streaming platform, Your Honor has garnered very strong viewership, per Variety.

According to the Nielsen streaming numbers, Your Honor was watched for 1.5 billion minutes between June 3 and June 9. This makes Your Honor the No. 1 show on the overall Top 10 list. Notably, this combines the show's new numbers on Netflix with its viewership on Paramount+, where it had already been available. In the show's first three days on Netflix before the June 3-9 window, it also garnered 544 million minutes watched, ranking at No. 9 on Nielsen's Top 10 list for streaming titles.

Your Honor aired with high expectations, given that it was the first starring role for Cranston in a drama series following his highly acclaimed run on Breaking Bad. Created by Peter Moffat, the show stars Cranston as a respectable judge whose son inadvertently kills the son of a crime boss in an auto accident, setting off a chain of events that changes everybody's lives forever. The show also stars Hunter Doohan, Hope Davis, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Carmen Ejogo.

Your honor was simply amazing and the fact it was filmed in my hometown made it even better I have told over 20 people about this series and the have told their friends as well. I truly hope you decide on another season.

The show is basically Bryan cranston trying to help a guy who continues to make worse and worse decisions as it progresses. It starts out with a series of terrible choices and proceeds to end in absolute lunacy as the kid is doing just about everything he can to get himself killed. Micheal loves the dog so much because he is far smarter than his son. Frustrating to watch but still good.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Netflix Inc. and Sony Pictures Television today announced "Better Call Saul," the highly-anticipated spin-off of "Breaking Bad," will be available exclusively to streaming members in Europe and Latin America shortly after its airing in the U.S, beginning in 2014.

In the U.S. and Canada, the complete first season of "Saul" will be available to Netflix members after its season finale on AMC Networks. The deal makes Netflix the exclusive subscription television service in all its territories for "Saul," as it is in certain territories for the recently concluded "Breaking Bad."

Starring Bob Odenkirk and co-created and executive produced by "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan, "Better Call Saul" tells the story of mall-based super lawyer Saul Goodman in the years before he became Walter White's attorney. From parking tickets to mass murder, from slip-and-fall to bond fraud, Saul handles it all.

"'Breaking Bad' is widely recognized as one of the great TV experiences in this new golden age of television," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer. "It has also proven very popular with Netflix subscribers around the world. This spin-off promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling. We are proud to be in business with Sony Pictures Television to bring Saul Goodman to our subscribers around the world."

"Coming off of the overwhelming success of 'Breaking Bad,' we're excited to continue our collaboration with Vince, as well as Peter Gould, and that fans around the world will be able to embrace 'Saul,'" said Steve Mosko, President of Sony Pictures Television.

"Breaking Bad," which concluded on AMC in late September, has for five seasons followed Walter White, a chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal cancer, who turns to making methamphetamines to support his family, ending up a ruthless drug lord. The series has won ten Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2013 and is regarded by critics as one of the best ever dramatic television series.

Members can play, pause and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.

The USA Network legal drama Suits has returned to the Netflix Top 10 chart. The show, which ran between 2011 and 2019, followed the goings-on at the New York law firm Pearson Hardman. The Suits cast included Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres. When the first eight seasons of the show arrived on Netflix in 2023 along with the full nine-season show streaming on Peacock, it rocketed to the top of the streaming charts, breaking records for an acquired series by racking up billions of viewing minutes.

On the Netflix homepage, the Top 10 television shows chart for the United States on the day of July 4, 2024, shows that Suits is No. 4. It is one of just two acquired series on the list (considerably ahead of Your Honor at No. 8), only falling behind the Netflix originals Worst Roommate Ever, Supacell, and The Man with 1000 Kids. This resurgence for the legal drama comes in the wake of the long-awaited season 9 being added to the streaming platform.

The original show's streaming success has already resulted in the spinoff Suits: L.A. having a pilot ordered, led by Arrow alum Stephen Amell. However, it remains to be seen if the show's record-breaking Netflix run translates into success for the new show. In fact, ithas not yet been ordered to series by NBC, so it remains to be seen if the Los Angeles-set show, which could feature cameos from some of the original cast members according to a recent tease, even makes it to the air.

It could be the case that the Netflix effect is what led to the surge in interest in Suits. The streaming platform is known for providing binge-worthy content, usually premiering their original shows in one season on top of debuting the entire runs of acquired shows. This encourages long-term binge-watching, which leads to shows garnering such high numbers of viewing minutes. However, a weekly show that doesn't center the same characters or setting may not have the same kind of immediate appeal as binging the entire original show on the streaming platform.

It may take something more concrete, like a proper Suits revival, to capture the same sort of intense interest in a new show from the franchise. While original star Meghan Markle retired from acting when she married Prince Harry in 2018, the remaining cast members are all still active in the industry. In fact, there have been various reunions of the original cast in prominent commercials, indicating that they may be willing to reprise their roles in a new version of the drama.

Suits follows Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who, despite never attending law school, is able to use his photographic memory to become a lawyer. The legal drama ran from 2011 to 2019 for a total of nine seasons and also starred Gabriel Macht, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Rick Hoffman.

Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph as a DVD-by-mail service. The idea came after Hastings was charged a late fee for a movie rental. Customers could subscribe to receive DVDs by mail. The company later expanded to streaming and now has millions of subscribers.

The company at the time struggled with two fundamental problems in their business model. One was that because the DVD was sent via mail, it would take anything between one day to 4 days for the shipment to reach the subscriber. Even though people were likely to try Netflix, conversion to repeat rentals was low. Secondly, people would far more inclined to rent out the latest releases. For the company to break even on the cost of purchasing a DVD to rent-out, they would have to generate 15-20 rentals for each DVD.

Secondly, to enable maximum utilisation of their DVD content catalogue, the company created their movie recommendation system. Through Cinematch, Netflix would recommend shows for their subscribers to watch. The point for this was to alleviate pressure for DVD rentals away from new releases, to a more uniform renting out of their content library. This solution has over the years become considerably sophisticated, and drives how customers experience Netflix and how the company makes decisions when acquiring new content.

Netflix put further pressure on competition when they announced the launch of their streaming service in January 2007, as Watch Now. At the time the streaming service was expected to be of use only for power users with broadband internet connections, which were not all that common at the time. Users were required to have a 1 mbps internet connection to be able to stream movies, with a 3mbps connection required for streaming DVD-quality films. Subscribers under the $17.99 plan had access to 18 hours of streaming content. Video delivery was through a special browser applet that subscribers would have to install. By 2008 however Netflix had given access to unlimited video streaming for subscribers to its biggest plan .
