Subject: CAPSTONE: Final Deadlines - Final Reports and Abstracts, Reimbursement Forms, Etc.Dear SIPA Liaisons,
As the semester is quickly coming to a close, I am sending reminders of important upcoming deadlines:
· Your workshop team should be submitting the final report and making the final presentation to the client around this week. The length, depth, format, etc. of the report and presentation are not determined by our office, but rather by the client, in consolation with the advisor and workshop team. All capstone teams are allotted a FlexCard ($100 balance) to be used at Columbia’s Printing Services located in 106 Journalism. Please note that reports should be printed in black and white; for graphs or images that require color, these should be printed separately and inserted into the report to manage the printing costs. If you need the FlexCard for printing, please come pick it up from my office (1403B IAB).
· All capstone workshops teams must submit to me via email, with your faculty advisor cc’ed, an electronic copy of your final report AND updated 250-abstract by May 13th. A hardcopy report is not necessary. These final reports will be made available for public view on our webpage (http://new.sipa.columbia.edu/academics/capstone-workshops/mia_mpa). Please consult with the client about whether the final report (or parts of the final report) are confidential. If so, please have this information clearly stipulated on the report. Should the client prefer for the final report to NOT be made public, please send the full (unredacted) report to us for our records (we will not then publish it on the website), we will only post the abstract out of respect for the client’s wishes.
· For capstone workshops who have been approved to travel, you must submit ALL of your travel expense reimbursement forms (from all team members) by May 17th. All reimbursement forms received after this date will not be processed, and you will not receive a reimbursement. Please note that all of the reimbursement forms from each capstone team must be submitted together. Individual reimbursement forms will not be processed until all team member forms are submitted.
Please feel free to get in contact should you have any questions about these final stages of your workshop. I look forward to seeing your final project and seeing you at the Capstone Workshop Closing Reception on May 9th. Please submit your prospectuses to be considered to present!
Best of luck,
Josephine
