Jordan,
For the 2nd presentation, only a Powerpoint slide deck is required. Again, there is no limit on deck length, but you have 15 minutes to cover the topics. (15 minutes to present, 10 for Q&A, 5 to switch to next team)
Make sure that the team focuses on a delivering a message as opposed to just listing facts.
1. Solution Status:
1. Progress up to this point
1. What have they implemented?
2. What is left to implement?
2. What has been some of the challenges up to this point?
3. What are some of the potential risks to project completion, and what is the plan for tackling these risks?
2. Suggested Futures:
1. What features would the team recommend that would really add value?
2. What features are going to set them apart from their competitors?
Regarding the UI element for displaying and updating the weights for grades, are there any standards or pre-built libraries that you can find for such a component? Are there any controls that you’ve used already (or in the past) that you could mimic/modify? Also, just about anything is possible (as is the case with most programming), but make sure your development time spent effectively. Sometimes implementing a simple but practical control works well until you find yourself ahead of schedule and can spend time being really creative.
Let me know if you have any questions before next Tuesday. Once you get started on your PowerPoint, feel free to link it to me and I’ll provide comments.
