Hello team,

See the email below from Susie Veon, our missions champion. The event is a good opportunity to take a missions pastor from your church along with to this event. Also, just a good staff event. The speaker is Jeannette Yep, our former VP of Multiethnicity. Let Susie and your supervisor know if you are interested.

Peace,
Christie

I was asked while inviting some staff to our March 24 Mission Summit day what I meant by "mission people" (who I referred to when suggesting they invite others and come themselves) so I thought I would send this on to you - and help you see why we are hoping include you and your staff for this one-day event with guest speaker Jeanette Yep.

"missions people" would be anyone who is interested in short term mission and even long term missions as part of an ongoing discipleship experience.  Either helping their students experience this, possibly leading a group some day, talking with supporting churches about students who are participating in a GP experience, and overall expanding the view and teaching about Lordship to include God's love for the world and such.
It might be a Pastor, a Staff Worker, TL, AD, or student leader.
Jeanette is talking specifically about how a broader view of the world and God's involvement in it helps us not just in terms of a bigger picture of the Kingdom but also informs our own voice in the issues that seem to loom large in our own society - racism, poverty, justice, political strife .....
If the "problems at home"  are all that take center stage and indeed block our view of a bigger story of redemption - we risk becoming myopic and self centered.
We want to explore this bigger story and experience of God together and would like to have you in the room with us to listen, learn and to share your insights as well."

If you have questions - and especially if you can come, please drop me a note of RSVP so we can include you in the meal count.
The correct times are on this flyer - a previous one went out with an afternoon session only but we are beginning at 9 in the morning and would like to invite you and include you in our lunch and afternoon session.
