How best can we assist? Anyone who has been involved in this before?

Dear Priscilla
It was good to speak with you this evening. Jaqui Stewart of Falcon College
suggested that you would be the best person to contact and ask for
assistance. She also suggested I copy Justice Udzembwe our request.
The Rotary Club of Bulawayo South is reviving what used to be the Lions High
Schools Public Speaking Competition. The Lions have not run it for several
years and are happy for us to take it over. However they lost their file
with all the info on it, and sadly all the history, so I have been working
from scratch. I have had a good meeting with Jacqui and things are moving
forward nicely.
In Harare the Rotary Clubs there organized a competition last year but it
was only for schools that had Interact Clubs. We felt that it was not fair
to exclude many government schools which do not have Interact Clubs. I
believe that Harare Toastmasters assisted the Harare Rotary Club with
judging and marking guidelines.
The dates set are Wednesday 22 and 29 February for preliminary rounds and 7
March for the finals at the Bulawayo Theatre. Thirty-seven Bulawayo schools
have been invited. The first thirty to respond (if we get thirty) will be
given the list of topics and allocated a date to participate. I attach the
letter sent to the schools.
I would appreciate some help please on choosing topics from which the
speakers can select one, and in contacting members of the Bulawayo
Toastmasters Club to request their help in judging the competition.
Obviously we need to find judges not connected with the schools. We need 3
judges for each night and I would prefer the same 3 people definitely for
the 2 preliminary rounds. We could change the judges if necessary for the
finals. I would also appreciate marking guidelines so the students know
what to pay attention to.
I leave on Tuesday to take my twin daughters to university in South Africa
and will only be back on 4 Feb. I may have occasional access to this email
address. Please copy my work address as well.
Many thanks indeed.
Regards
Sandy

Unfortunately we don't have a running club in Blyo and we are busy
re-launching a club there. Will however bounce it off the few guys in
Blyo and get their response.
Thank you very much
Justice
Thanks Reuben. Any topics guys?
Do we have volunteers who are ready to take up roles, we need to get
back to the Rotarians in time?
Do we have any takers for this event, I need to respond to the Rotarians?
