Friends,
I think most of you know by now that I accepted a job last week with the Missouri Department of Economic Development's Division of Energy. I'll essentially be researching the kinds of policies that we promote in the Sierra Club, with the obvious exception that I'll be in Missouri. The other twist to add is that I will start on September 16th, which gives me little time to pack, load a truck, travel, and find an apartment.
In light of all that, I will have to step down from my duties within the Capital Group and the NC Chapter as a whole, effective immediately. (This helps explain the sudden, fourth opening in our group's Ex Com election slate.) I will still be reachable at this email address, with the caveat that my availability will be severely limited for the next month or so and my ability to engage in club-related activities will be nearly non-existent moving forward. While I also will not be able to make tomorrow's LTE/LTD party, I hope to attend the PAC fundraiser on September 3rd.
All that said, I have enjoyed every moment which I spent working with y'all in this organization. I made many good friends with whom I wish to stay in touch, particularly when I return to NC for visits. Y'all do great, impactful work, and I am sad to leave at this important time when we are poised to make such a huge dent in state politics and the future of state electricity production with the CE4R program; however, I know that everybody I've worked with over just about the past year will continue to rocket this club to greater success.

Warmest,
Marty
