Hello everyone, I just wanted to bring up a couple of issues.
I noticed that we have other advisors coming to the meeting again and
I spoke to Jason Wheeler who would like to attend and answer any
additional questions that would allow us to make a decision one way or
another with him. I also think we should limit the meeting time
excusing others to allow the board to vote on the difficult task at
hand.
I was thinking 45 minutes open and 30 minutes for the board.

Please advise,

Joseph Soares

To my understand the advisors are old board members and Jason is not.

Proper edict with any board is to handle board voting making decisions amongst the board members.
Jason is interviewing with the board and our advisers so we can decide if he is qualified to handle our fund-raising needs as a whole.

Hello Joe, and all,
Regarding tomorrow's lunch meeting...  If you recall from last Friday, we all agreed that we'd meet again (including the members of our advisory committee) to further discuss and strategize on solving the immediate crisis.  That is why the members of the advisory committee will attend if they are able to.  To my knowledge, Phoebe was the only one who requested to meet Jason and it was not determined that he'd attend our meeting at that time.  Please inform Jason that he does not have to attend tomorrow and that he will hear from us by the end of next week.  I'll also send him a thank you note today for his attendance and presentation last Sunday. We'll have an emergency, regular Board meeting next week--I'm in the process of scheduling--where votes will be held. Voting cannot take place at Friday meetings because these were technically fundraising committee meetings.  Thank you in advance for everyone's efforts so far!  See you tomorrow.
Aminah

Hey Aminah and all,

I would suggest that Jason be there for the first part of the meeting.  If he is not a good fit, Pheobe will be able to tell, as she is more experienced than all of us at Fundraising and recognizing BS.   We need these questions answered:  Can we raise that kind of money in that period of time?  If so, is he the right person for the job?   This will save the board a great deal of time in planning.

Currently, our course of action is to raise enough money to hire a grant writer.  If you recall, Pheobe told us that the practices that Jason is subscribing to is now frowned upon by major foundations.   With that said, we should be cautious with our next move.

I agree with Joe in that we should have him for the first part of the meeting, maybe 15 minutes and then excuse him, so we can proceed with board business.  It is all a part of the process.

Thoughts?

Joe,

This is a great initiative, but typically a successful event requires at least 3 weeks to promote.

Anything for four (4) weeks from now?

We all decided that we needed to do something immediately, if we all invite just our close friends and family it will be successful.

Thank's

I think it is great but I agree with you fredson. It would be better if we had more time. That way we can get a better profit.

Dr. Pilgrim and Board Members
Hoping all is well and we can all try  to make the meeting tomorrow if the weather permits. Time is very
critical 4 all of us I don't think
it's in the best interest of ACVB to gamble or invest that amount of money Yes I know that sometimes in order to make money you have to spend money But lets not spend something we don't have. let's not waste any time by inviting him 4 the lunch meeting if anyone has any question we can call him.

Fellow board members, the association is in trouble and headed toward serious trouble simply because more money is going out than coming in. I actually think we need to make critical decisions now rather than later. I don't think borrowing to continue is a option that we have. The long term affects of more debt would not be a financially responsible move for the organization. We need to stop spending what we don't have.
Tough decisions need to be made now, before we get deeper in the red.
Once we get stabilized through fundraising and or grants we can reverse whatever cuts we made. Keep in mind that any grants that we apply for, these groups will look at our stability, and our ability too remain financially responsible in difficult times. Continuing to allow us to go in the red will tarnish us in the future.

Best Regards,

Joe Soares

Hello Everyone,

I think we should talk about all of these great new initiatives at our meeting and vote on them on our Emergency Meeting. As for our Lunch meeting ...I think we need to reschedule it for 5pm due to the weather. We are all heading in the right direction. I think that everyone is doing there share and doing there best to raise money fast. Lets stay focused and we will reach our goal.

Yes, only members are included in the Google group.  The names came from a list of Board Members that Leny had provided at the beginning of the year.

As an administrator, you can actually go on and verify if all of the Board Members are included.

One other thing,  this is a Google group, but it is still an email.  E-mails can be forwarded and stick around for a really long time, so watch what you say...(word of caution).

Good Morning,
It's kind of late for this, but want to be sure that ONLY board members and staff are included in our google groups.  That is the case, right?  Thank you for confirming.
