Hi all,
There's some excellent ruby conference presentations from railsconf etc. out there from brilliant speakers like Katrina Owen and Sandi Metz. Some of the lessons are quite timeless even though they're years old.
Does anyone want to get together and watch a few? I think there's value in networking and discussion that goes far beyond just hitting YouTube.
Would love to hear suggestions of good presentations and venue, even if it's a rented boardroom in a co-working space.
If you're not sure what sort of talk I'm thinking of, check out Therapeutic Refactoring by Katrina Owen.

Hi Fritz. Yes I am 100% in.
I have visited Tech Talk Tuesday a few times and the discussions are always valuable, but it would be 10X better to watch something related to Ruby with other Rubyists.
Codebridge would be a cheap venue but it is a bit far South to get the best attendance possible. Do you want me to ask Wilhelm about Snapscan? I can also ask at Unboxed or P45 if you are interested in either of those venues.

Yes! Ask everyone :).
Currently sitting at a devops talk in 22seven's ridiculous (amazing) theatre, do we know if they have ruby in their stack? But I guess a few people watching a ruby vid might be dwarfed here.

Talking about working on top of table mountain.
Do y'all know that there is now a wi-fi lounge at the top cable car station. Apparently Internet signal varies a bit in quality but there is decent cellular cover as well.

Okay, so I'm not going to ask about other venues. Vulcan labs is as central as anywhere I would have asked and Angus already offered.
I suggest we keep the dream alive of one day having a CTRB meetup on the first #{pick_a_week_day} of each month, and some months it can be watching a talk together like this. Is anyone interested that can not make it on 6 July at 6:30pm?
Is anyone interested in one day having a monthly meetup and Wednesdays are not good for you, please suggest another day of the week if so?
