Over the past few months we’ve extended a very successful little emailing system of ours so that people other than ourselves can use it. To move things forward, we’re after a few beta testers who can provide us with some concrete, practical feedback. We’ve had the system running in a production environment, for a single client, for a couple of months now. And, the architecture is an evolution of a system (which we own and operate) that sends emails for several local (Cape) schools.

We integrate either as a gem (https://rubygems.org/gems/pdm), or as a drop-in replacement for ActionMailer (https://rubygems.org/gems/pdm-rails). As a baseline, we provide web-accessible logging and reporting. Which enables you to easily see which emails have been successfully sent, and which didn’t make it.

We have a good few other tricks up our sleeves. For example, our templating mechanisms could allow you to manage your client branding more simply. We can deal with scheduling, in-lining of images and style sheets. And a slew of other things. What we don’t have a good handle on is what matters to the market. Which is the feedback we’d hope to get through working with some of you.

We see the next step as rolling PDM out to a few more “friendly” clients. So, if you’re friendly, please drop me (re...@pipedevmail.com) an email. Or take a look at our web site (http://pipedevmail.com).

Oh, and, of course, we are Cape Town based. And, we are quite a long way off billing anybody. However, if you're friendly, we'll almost certainly bring beer!
