Yahoo has notified that they are closing down or severely limiting the features of Yahoo Groups over the next few weeks. Thereafter that group will be virtually useless to members. They will remove all posts, files and photos, so the use of the Yahoo group as an archive for others to research during their build projects will be totally lost.
I have looked into the possibility of exporting all of the useful stuff out of Yahoo and importing into Google Groups. While it is possible, it is a complicated, very laborious and time-consuming process. I don't have the time available to work my way through that process.
1) If you have any albums of your build or sailing photos or other files in the Yahoo group and would like them to be available to others, please duplicate those albums and files in the Google group.
2) The discussions in Yahoo will be lost because my research sources say that each message has to be individually transferred from the one forum to the other.
