Sealion is back in the watwe now after our Murray river trip.I will post some photo's of the trip during the week
While I had the rig down I have had the mainsail re cut slightly as it was a little full and hard to flatten when the breeze picked up. Something to watch out for those still building. My gaff is carbon fibre and doesn't bend at all, so had the head cut straight. The luff also had a little too much curve so also had a litte taken out here. Our masts don't bend so the sailmaker needs to take this in to account. I was also having trouble with lacing jamming sometimes so have fitted parrell beads as the picture shows. I went for a quick sail this morning and the sail goes up and down easily now. The other photo shows my dropboards. I have a timber hatch rather than the acrylic one in the plans so that I can stand on it when raising the mast. This obviously doesn't let in any light or heat, which is a good thing in Australia so the acrylic dropboards let in a good amount of light, and it is also nice to be able to look out even when it is raining. Hi Ron
The acrylic drop boards are a great idea. I was going to go for a timber hatch as well for the same reason: Western Australian summers are hot. Do let us know how the modifications to the mainsail turn out. We get nice strong sea breezes in Perth so I will be facing the same issue.

Thanks
Daniel
