What is the ideal technique for attaching the handle to the acrylic sliding hatch? Glue but with what? Screw?

I screwed the little handle and the stop because I drilled the plexiglass and the conical screw had a good grip in the wood and I don't force too much. For the handle, I can make a path in the wood for the screw but I'm afraid of popping the acrylic.

Andre,

Epoxy will adhere to acrylic as long as it is sanded well.

You need to be a little careful using screws with acrylic as it expands up to 7%, and you should allow for this when making the hatch so it does not jam on a hot day.
