I took Sealion out for a sail in 25 knots this morning to make a video particularly for those building. I have posted it on my YouTube channel. I still haven't worked out how to add the link so can someone please add this for me. The photo of the wake gives you some idea of boat speed. I was surfing at 9knots, an absolute blast. I had one reef in the main and the staysail. The video starts with me hove to after putting in the reef, and finishes with me hove to. Sorry about the audio at the end but it shows how she behaves when hove to in a lot of wind, I was fore reaching at about 1.5 knots and the anemometer was showing 26k.Getting used to the boat and practicing reefing in light conditions will give you confidence for when the wind picks up. As you can see the boat behaves beautifully and is quite dry considering the day. Ron

Great Video Ron. She handles those conditions well. You were clearly enjoying yourself out there. Daniel

I did enjoy the sail Daniel. I have logged over 600nautical miles since December and am really getting to know the boat well. The wind was from the North west so the sea was not as lumpy a it would have been if it had been from the south west as it usually is. The only other boat out on Saturday was being towed in by the Coast Guard after getting a rope wrapped around his prop.I have been out in those kind of winds but usually getting ready to head home, so I wanted to spend some time trying a few different things now that I know the boat better. I have to say that I can't find any vices with the boat, and there is nothing I would change. I have great confidence in Sealion and it is nice to know that it is still an enjoyable sail in those kind of winds rather than having to pack up and head for home. I have been making the videos because when I started building there were only a few out there, I hope you enjoy them. Ron
