Intercultural Consultation Services –part-time positions, working remotely

Associate Directors

 

Intercultural Consultation Services provides training and consulting services to individuals, religious communities, and corporations that want to learn about and benefit from cultural differences. ICS provides tools for working and and living within a different culture. The work begun as Maryknoll’s Cross-Cultural Services now has become Intercultural Consultation Services and continues to offer the same high quality programs. Intercultural Consultation Services (ICS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), faith-based corporation that was established in Detroit, Michigan in July, 2006.

 

It is expected that Associate Directors will continue to reside where they presently live or in the city/place of their individual choice. The ICS Associate Director positions (from 6 to 9) are expected to be contractual positions from fee-for-service program work. Most of the Associate Director positions are expected to be part time in the range of up to quarter time (averaging up to 40 hrs. monthly/480 hrs. annually). Compensation will be tied to a formula of split between ICS and the Associate Director, as well as program variables and experience. ICS asks a three year commitment of persons who accept a position of Associate Director. While the specific responsibilities for every Associate Director position are the same, prospective candidates will be asked to identify from two to four areas within ICS programs and services that are most compatible with their preparation, experience in intercultural mission/work, skill sets and interests. These would likely be the arenas in which your work for ICS would occur, at least initially.

 

ICS Program Offerings are:

1) Preparation for Missionaries (for both long and short term mission experience)

2) Orientation for Short-term Mission Experience or Immersion

3) Acculturation Workshops for International Ministers working in the U.S.

4) Counseling related to Intercultural Issues

5) Debriefing and Transition Experiences

6) Guided Mission Retreats and Spiritual Accompaniment

7) Cultural Competency and Diversity Workshops

8) Consultation/Facilitation on Intercultural Issues
