Dearest colleagues and comrades in Asia and the Pacific, 

We hope this email finds you well.

We would like to remind everyone who wishes to be part of the Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM) Regional Coordinating Committee and Advisory Group (RCC-AG) strategy meetings which will happen on May 19, May 25 and June 1, 2021 (AM session: 10 AM to 12 NN & PM session: 1 PM to 3 PM, BKK time) to apply through this form: https://forms.gle/zRLgUrk27DLNbKHY9

Please note that the deadline for the application is on SUNDAY, May 2, 2021.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the limited nature of the online meetings, each 17 constituency and 5 subregions may have up to 3 representatives EACH (should be all from different organizations) while we also invite all the thematic working group coordinators. Focal points will assist the core team in the selection of the participants. For constituencies without focal points, the core team will select participants based on the applications received.

We wish to inform all of you that the Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM) Regional Coordinating Committee and Advisory Group (RCC-AG) will hold a series of online strategy meetings on May 19, May 25 and June 1, 2021 (AM session: 10 AM to 12 NN & PM session: 1 PM to 3 PM, BKK time)

The strategy meetings aim to: 

  • Have in-depth discussion to respond to APRCEM External Evaluation report and recommendations, including on APRCEM’s achievements, challenges and lessons learned as well as identify further steps and action points.  

  • Develop a common understanding and strategies on the current changing scenario of global development, as well as political dynamics and trend of CSO engagements at the regional and global levels on sustainable development, particularly in the time of digital engagement, with the UN, including UN Reforms, in the regional and global level on sustainable development.  

  • Formulate a collective direction on strategy/ies in relation to  capacity building, building tools and resources, advocacy opportunities, as well as improving APRCEM’s governance - including structure, operations, outreach works, fundraising and the transition of RCC-AG (Regional Coordinating Committee- Advisory Group)

A core team, composed of the co-chairs, members of the RCC and the advisory group, has been formed to prepare for and facilitate the strategy meetings.

In this regard, we wish to open the call for participation for interested organizations who wish to contribute in strengthening APRCEM's power, engagement and sustainability. . Deadline of submission of application forms is on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
