North Palm Beach County Cadet Squadron SER FL 152 Located at

Bright Futures Academy Middle School; 10350 Riverside Dr. Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

 

I Sherry Stevens (Commander) was contacted by the Resource Officer Mr. Jeff Ferrell at Crestwood Middle School in Royal Palm Beach, and asked if our Squadron would do a recruiting presentation for their 8th Graders on Friday, September 26, 2014, . So I requested the assistance of Captain Burr who created a Powerpoint Presentation he set up on his laptop. He was able to plug into the Schools projector and I clicked next as he presented the information on the screen. Our Cadet Commander C/CMSgt Rebecca Stevens handed out cadet flyers for additional recruiting information kids could take home to their Parent and I gave my card with my contact info to Officer Ferrell. Captain Burr also brought in a practice beacon and Johnson hand held so as he explained eservices, he set off that lovely sound it makes. There were 350 kids in attendance, they all had eyes on us and were quiet and respectful. They interacted when asked questions and seemed to like CAP. I have attached pictures of the 4 mentioned in this summary including the full lunchroom.

 

We were asked to come back each year to perform our outstanding presentation for them, we agreed to do so. I have not yet heard from the kids or their parents, but will reach out to the Officer to see if he needs more flyers.

 

We had a great experience and plan to do another soon!
