AEOs,

By now you've received email from Lt Col Robert "Mac" McManus reminding you to send in your AE reports.  If you've sent them in, thank you!  If not, please do so by 15 Jan (yes, that's this Saturday).

Lt Col McManus (
rmcm...@ngs.edu) has an extensive AE background, not only at the wing (MDWG) but also region (MER) level.  He is our Wing Internal AEO.  Capt Harrison "Harry" Ingraham (
ourobor...@gmail.com) is ADY to wing staff (he is AEO for the Lt Col Frank Pocher Minute Man squadron) as External AEO.  He's a past winner of the Brewer cadet award, and he earned the Spaatz as a cadet.  Welcome, Mac and Harry!

The reality is that if you have any AE questions, any of the three of us will gladly answer them...no need to worry which one of us to contact!

Last, if you're on the Wing mailing list (all@mawg), you've seen the email below from Maj Lipman.  (If you're not on the MAWG mailing list, you should be!)  Note that the AE portion of the MAWG website has extensive resources, including a section on current events.  I plan on updating the current events site at least once a month, certainly just before each Wing Staff meeting (first Wednesday of each month).  Feel free to use these current events at your own meetings, and please send me any current events you'd like to see included.

Subject: New MAWG Web Site
To: MAWG HQ <
a...@mawg.cap.gov>
The new MAWG web sites (
http://www.mawg.cap.gov and the associated members-only site) are now live! These are still works in progress, the world-facing page is not yet updated, and some directorates have not yet added their content to the members-only site, but you can get a feel already, in the "members" section, for what's in store.
When you click on the "members" link from
http://www.mawg.cap.gov, you'll be opening up a different web site that requires a log-in. You must log in with your
firstname...@mawg.cap.gov user name. If you've never logged in to this system before, your password is your CAPID. (If your password is still your CAPID, then after you log in you should change your password using the "My Account" link at the top of the page.)
A nice feature of this new site is the ability to "subscribe" to changes to individual pages, or to the entire site. You'll see at the top-right of each page, a "More actions" pull-down menu, which contains a "Subscribe to page changes" option and a "Subscribe to site changes" option. If you want to know instantly when a particular page, or anything on the site, is updated, you can subscribe. A message will be sent to your
firstname...@mawg.cap.gov email address whenever a change is made.
Whether you use the subscription feature or not, don't forget to set up forwarding of email to your normal email account. To do this, click the "Mail" link at the top-left corner of the page. Then click on "Settings" near the top-right, and then "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" in the dark orange area. You can then click the "Forward a copy of incoming mail" button, and select the address to which you'd like your email forwarded.
It is important that you either forward your
mawg.cap.gov email to your normal email account or check your
mawg.cap.gov email on a regular basis. Although the all@mawg email list (at which you are receiving this message) currently sends directly to your normal email account, that is very difficult for us to maintain. That list of email addresses will be obsoleted in the future, in favor of sending to only
mawg.cap.gov email addresses.
If you encounter obvious errors in the web sites (broken links, missing images, etc.), please let me know.
Enjoy!
Maj Derrell Lipman
