Would you please urge everyone who is living in the City of Moab to
encourage the Planning Commission to put it on their 2009 agenda to
develop a new ordinance that allows for residential chickens within
Moab City limits. Sue Phillips and I have been working on a chicken
ordinance template that we are providing to the planning commission
that has suggestions for an ordinance, including (but not limited to!)
limitations on flock sizes, a NO roosters policy, and expectations for
sanitation, flock containment and setbacks from neighboring residences.
We would like people to write letters of support by the end of
December, and they can be e-mailed directly to the planning commission
at the City of Moab website:
