The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce monthly board meeting was held
Monday night. Review and approval of the current year's budget took
place. A money market account was earmarked as designated funds for a
new visitor's center, giving us a substantial amount as a beginning!
In reviewing 2006's business and budget in comparison, and with an
increase of 118 new members or about 30% growth for 2006, it was voted
to increase annual Business Membership Fees in order to meet the needs
of the community businesses. It has been four years since the last
increase. This increase will affect businesses only, and will make a
change to lower-level fees for one's second business. Across the
board the annual Business Membership Fee is now $150.00 for all
Business Members with the exceptions of non-profit organizations. Non-
profit and Associate Memberships will remain at $50.00. It was
approved for the Administrative Director to increase part-time hours
to full-time (that's me!).
Sally Koch ~
Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones
surround us daily.
CHAMBER VOLUNTEERS visited local lodging members in two trips around
the lake and river areas on March 22 and March 27, 2007. Not only was
each trip thoroughly enjoyed by the Volunteers and Jaynellen, but
actually seeing the physical locations and the beautiful lodging
facilities was a big treat. The more we know, the more we can talk
about! THANKS to RIO RAFT & RESORT for providing the Tour Van for
both trips! Volunteers visited and were warmly greeted by Drum's
Lakeview Lodge & Resort, Little Goose Lake Haus, T-Bar-M Ranch, Resort
& Conference Center, Kuebler Waldrip Haus, Rio Raft & Resort, Maricopa
Riverside Lodge, Log Cabins at Jacob's Creek, Jan Hardin, Canyon Lake
Ranch. Thank you, T-Bar-M and Ed's Old Windmill for lunch on these
days!
IMPORTANT: The Chamber is experiencing a large amount of business and
that most likely won't change! Both walk-in visitors and phone calls
are abundant! If we do not have your business brochures, menus,
general information, etc, you may be missing out on more business!
Please make a point of dropping off brochures, and if you absolutely
can't make it, contact us and we will come pick them up! It is that
important to us to have current information about you! We have two
volunteers on duty most every day, now, as business demands the extra
help. If you would like to volunteer in the Visitor's Center, please
contact Jaynellen or Bonnie.
ACCOG SPRING LAKE/RIVER CRUISE San Antonio Car Clubs visited the Lake
area Saturday, March 24th; cruising by Overlook Park/Guadalupe River.
Hosted by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, who greeted over 50
members of the SA Car Club and provided area information and
information about our members and businesses, plus visitors got a
sneak peek at The Gorge and a walk in the Guadalupe River Trail.
Canyon Lake Super S Foods donated the ice! Canyon Bend Self Storage &
Elouise Lewis donated the water! Elouise also donated the ice tea.
Bill Rilat and John Biggs built the tent arena. Helping out with the
"Welcome to the Area" were Jaynellen Ladd, Elouise Lewis, John Biggs,
Bill Rilat, Henry Steinhagen, Val & Terry Schroller, and Brenda Varne.
Thank you to all who helped!
We are now able to accept Credit Card Payments! Visa, MasterCard and
