LOCAL TECH SERVICE
Submitted by Cindy Wharton
Local Tech Service is pleased to announce the addition of a new service
- Remote Backup. By providing a "local" off-site backup service,
we could literally save your livelihood if something unexpected should
happen to your computer systems.
A well known fact is that most small businesses don't have a backup
plan at all for their critical data. Unfortunately, many of those who
have gone to the trouble to setup a plan are ill prepared for some
eventualities they may very well face today.
Computing has evolved dramatically over the past few years and became
much more integrated into our daily lives. Many of us don't realize
just how much we have come to rely on our electronic friends until they
suddenly get sick or, heaven forbid, die altogether. Just like it
would be a little late to think about life insurance at your funeral,
once your computer is dead or dying is not the time to make sure your
backup plan is really working.
One of the things we hear all the time is "my computer doesn't have
any important data on it." While in some cases this might well be
true, consider this. Reach over right now and simply unplug your
computer from the wall. I'm not talking about shutting down; I mean
just pull the plug. Now, take the cord and put it away for a week or
so! Will your business, and life in general, go on uninterrupted? If
not, your backup system is probably lacking. Please visit our website
http://www.localtechservice.com for more information or call us at
830.708.2692.

Boat N Go is working in conjunction with the Corps of Engineers and
Texas Parks and Wildlife to place cedar trees in Canyon Lake on Feb. 4,
2007. They will be placing the trees at 10 different locations in the
lake.
This helps young fish by providing structure where they can hide from
larger predators. Volunteers are needed to help with chain saws to cut
the trees, and trailers are also needed to haul the trees to designated
boat ramps around the lake. Please contact Boat N Go if you can help.
The trees should be 8' to 10' tall and freshly cut. Boat N Go is
also looking for property owners that are close to the lake and have
cedar trees that can be cut down for this purpose. If you have cinder
blocks that you would like to get rid of, or if you would like to
donate towards the purchase of cinder blocks and straps, please stop by
Boat N Go at 1478 FM 2673 in Sattler. Email to in...@boatngo.com or

SEVEN YESES
Authentic Value
A business needs to provide authentic value to their clients. This
tenet seems obvious at first but many companies never think about what
this value is and how to convey it authentically; doing so effectively
can draw business.
The Message You Portray
The consistent message is one that your clients associate with your
business and should be included in your words, images and style. Your
message is one of the components of a complete brand and should be part
of your planning to build a stronger brand. Remember, brand is your
authentic value.
Passion for Your Product
You need to show passion for your product or service. And of course
that excitement is a reflection of your passion for your business. You
need to answer the following questions, why are providing your offering
and what makes you excited about it?
Pleasing Customers
Remember to please your clients, listen to them and solicit their
advice. Focus as strongly on maintaining your relationships with
current clients as working to transform your prospects into customer.
By pleasing your customers you demonstrate a commitment to a
long-lasting rapport with clients, new and established alike.
Durable Relationship
Your prime directive should be to create relationships with clients
where they want to do business with you on a continual basis. A
positive experience in purchasing form you is your best bet in creating
preference. Once the relationship becomes durable, it must be
nurtured.
Secret Smile and Other Intangibles
The smile is a primary component of friendliness. A smile is a
universal signal that sends out a complex message that "I am
approachable, I want to share my good mood with you, and I like you."
An unseen smile during a telephone call is conveyed in your voice.
This small gesture is an example of an intangible that can attract a
client or prospect to your business and create preference.
Align to Attract
Alignment is one of the most powerful tools in authenticity marketing.
Alignment is having a consistency between what's on the inside and
what you show on the outside. This special quality creates an inner
strength that is perceived from the outside. In other words, you need
to walk your talk.
This kind of information and other topics of interest are presented by
special guests at our monthly Canyon Lake Business Network meetings
(third Thursdays) designed to bring together area business people for
networking and for learning and sharing! If you would like to inform
this group with business-worthy information, or if you would like more
information, please contact B. J. Thomas, the PRO Team of Mickey
Ferrell Realtors at 210-602-7446. To R.S.V.P. to attend on January 18,
