to Canyon Lake Texas
When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary
project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends
limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you
find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces,
faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a
greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be. ~ Patanjali
(c. 1st to 3rd century BC)

"THANK YOU"

A Special Guest at the parade this year won't be recognized as
himself, but a huge THANK YOU to Solomon Fuss!

"LOOKING AT THE LAKE" KGNB 1420 AM Radio Show, Thursdays, 1:00 PM
We began a new 13-week cycle of shows last week and are still seeking
Sponsors for December and January. OPEN SPOTS ARE DECEMBER 28, JANUARY
4 AND JANUARY 25. Tune in on Thursdays at 1:00pm to KGNB 1420 AM to
listen to "Looking at the Lake", our thirty-minute show focused on
local issues, news, membership, announcements and events going on for
the upcoming 7-day period. We offer our members the opportunity to
sponsor this show each week. The sponsor's spot is a 'dedicated
8-minutes' plus four 15-second mentions throughout the program.
Write your own script, perform it yourself, or we will have someone
present it for you. As a sponsor, you would host one show every four
weeks (approximately) and be billed after each show airs. A previous
cost for this show was $300 per show. We entered into a new commitment
with KGNB for one year. Our new cost for each show is now just $250!!
This is a great advertising deal and the Chamber passes on the savings
to you by charging exactly what we are charged. People are talking
about "Looking at the Lake" and how listening truly informs one of
what is going on in the lake area. The show reflects growth and sparks
interest in local events. This show also clearly helps to define the
Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce as one of the most active chambers in
this part of Texas. Consensus says we are FRIENDLY! If you are
interested in securing a spot to promote your business throughout
Comal, Hayes and Guadalupe Counties to over 65,000 listeners, please
contact Jaynellen Ladd at 830-964-2223 or by email to
exe...@canyonlakechamber.com. Take advantage of this specially
priced deal for Chamber Members, and make that plan to gain exposure
for your business today and in 2007!

'STARS OVER CANYON LAKE' There's still time to join us in
celebrating the Holiday Season! Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce
invites you to participate in the "Stars Over Canyon Lake"
Christmas Project by lighting up stars at your business. We are
fortunate this year to have the generous commitment from Pedernales
Electric Cooperative to hang and supply electricity plus the hook ups
for lighted STARS in each town - Hancock, Startzville and Sattler,
plus hang Christmas Tree pole decorations, too! We are also fortunate
to have received all twelve sponsorships for the first TWELVE STARS in
our long-range program to join together the Lake area with lighted
stars at Christmas-time! That is a pure sign of people coming together
to achieve a community-minded goal! In an effort to show even more
festive spirit plus benefit two local non-profit organizations ($10
from the sale of each star), we invite all businesses in the area to
light up your business in seasonal attire by purchasing specially made
lighted STARS from Tish's Décor & More (964-6050), or simply
decorate with your own lights and stars. Next year we hope to add to
the 'Sponsored Collection'. Thank you to those who chose to
Sponsor a STAR, and to those who wanted to, but the goal was fulfilled!

Leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about
opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration - of oneself and
of others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes.
Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that
comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an
attitude, not a routine. ~ Lance Secretan

The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is embarking on a
significant construction program to preserve and protect their
national-class site of dinosaur tracks. Plans include a 15,000
square-foot "Track Barn" to protect the tracks from the elements
plus an amphitheater and walkways to allow visitors to enjoy the sight
of the tracks and learn about these creatures that roamed our area 100
million years ago. The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is
making a special effort to enroll new business members to the Museum.
This is an important demonstration of local support in their
applications for grants from area foundations such as Kronkosky and San
Antonio Area Foundation to which they have recently applied. The
Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is a 501(C)(3) organization
dedicated to the collection and preservation of the rich heritage of
the Texas Hill Country. Current fund raising efforts are directed
toward the preservation of a national-class site of dinosaur tracks by
the construction of a 15,000 square-foot "Track Barn" to protect
the tracks from weathering processes. The front side of the structure
will be designed to resemble a Hill Country barn with wood siding and a
metal roof to blend in with the planned "Heritage Garden " with
pioneer and farm structures. A Native Plant Trail has already been
constructed by the Lindheimer Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists
and there are plans to expand this trail as rainfall permits. Please
give them your support" and join! The Museum is open seven days a
