for rebuilding and replacing the 'bridge' to our mailbox,

that washed away in the recent heavy rains,

and the new one held up in the recent gully washer, too! Yee Haw,
Ya'll!

Looking Ahead! Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce has gone through many
changes and growth in the past several years. Two years ago the
Chamber Board looked at Chamber hosted events and programs and made
some hard decisions to continue or cancel them. This was a long and
hard process, but we accomplished a lot. In order to be united and to
best serve our community, the CANYON LAKE BOARD OF DIRECTORS and
Executive Director Jaynellen Ladd met on Friday, June 15 for a Board
Retreat. President of the Texas Association of Business, Art Roberts,
facilitated. Recommendations were to prioritize the work program and
the role of the Chamber. In progress is the restructuring and
reorganizing of the Board, the by-laws, policies and procedures plus
the implementation of Task Force Committees. Plans are to create a
positive economic impact in our community while keeping on task with
our Mission Statement, which is also being reevaluated. The Annual
Membership Meeting will be held on September 18th this year, with the
location to be determined. The new direction will be revealed at that
time. We need the help of strong leaders in our community! If you
would like to participate in a Task Force sub-committee or would like
to discuss volunteer opportunities, please contact Jaynellen Ladd at
830.964.2223 Monday - Friday.

COMAL COUNTY RECYCLING Update: Tom Hornseth, Comal County Engineer,
says the county is now taking the recycling to a business in San

separates the recycling via machine and saves Comal County many
dollars in time and labor. It is not necessary to separate the
recycling types any longer. It is appreciated if the items are
clean. Each driver at recycling locations will have a book with
pictures showing how the company separates recycling items from one
another. 608-2090 for more information.
