The Chamber's July Business After-Hours Mixer is a short time away,
but it is a very important mixer. July's Mixer contributes to the
Serve & Protect Program and this year's recipients are the Constables
from Districts 1 & 4, Shane Rapp & Ben Scroggin. Their need is for at
least one defibrillator at an estimated cost each of $2,000. If we
are able to provide two, they will place one in each patrol car.
These two fine gentlemen patrol Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River
areas for our community. Each year Cathy Wingert of Wingert Insurance
Agency challenges all other insurance companies to meet or exceed her
contribution, so watch for upcoming details about that! Last year the
Sheriff's Office & Officers received over $4,900 from the Serve &
Protect Program that purchased digital cameras for each patrol car,
eliminating the sharing of a few cameras among them all. That
contribution was greatly appreciated! Please keep this program in
mind as July approaches.
The Chamber has a MASCOT! And, something's fishy! Did you see it yet?

Talk about YOUR business to a captivated, listening audience of
65,000!
These folks that listen also TALK to others about what they hear!
Well into our second year of broadcasting weekly, the Chamber's weekly
radio show, "Looking at the Lake", airs each Thursday at 1:00 PM.
Listen this week! Secure your sponsorship spot before it is too
late! Sponsors receive a full 8 minutes dedicated to their business,

Chamber of Commerce, at 964-2223.
We're a drop-off point for KLRN's Blazing Gavels Auction! In
addition, this year we are bringing our members together creating some
great package deals from our area for auction. If our area businesses
will provide a total of 27 items or gift certificates, each valued at
$100 or more, 'Canyon Lake' will enjoy enhanced promotion for an
entire evening that otherwise or independently wouldn't be
affordable! Put your heads and your offerings together to build
special deals!
Our community will receive extensive on-air exposure before KLRN's
2,000,000 viewers in 30 counties throughout South Central Texas!
Benefits such as a 30 second video presentation about Canyon Lake
would be aired 3 times; 22 minutes of television exposure devoted to
our community; be included in the Auction Buyer's Guide; the 30 second
video would be included in the Auction Preview - a 30 minutes program
which airs several times, and more! Please contact the Chamber for
the letter, benefits and donation form. April 1 was the deadline to be
in the Auction Buyer's Guide; May 1 was the deadline for the Auction
Preview. This cannot happen without YOU! Please consider the great
results this group effort could produce! For more information contact
the Chamber or Katherine Warmack in KLRN's Auction Department at
210-270-9000 or 800-627-8193, ext. 2305.
In relation to the KLRN Auction, the Canyon Lake Lodging Association
has crafted a gift certificate for lodging donations which they are
willing to share with any lodging business that is considering or has
donated a stay. The certificate can be tailored to your own
specifications. The period during which it can be redeemed by the
winner is specified. It is typically set during the off-season,
around from November through February.
The certificate also includes the donation of a second night for a 15%
reduction in the regular rate, which the winner can optionally take or
not take along with the donated night's stay. The total value of the
donation is the total of the free night plus 15% of the daily room
rate. Of course, whether to offer this feature at all and what the
discount would be is up to the donor.
The requirements for using the certificate are specified. A
reservation must be made and is subject to the cancellation policy of
the donor. It states that upon reservation a credit card number must
be provided, for security against damage, as well as to cover the
charges to be levied, if the bearer cancels the reservation when a
penalty applies, or does not show up at all.
For a copy of the certificate or for more information, please contact
Jim Gansle, President of the Canyon Lake Lodging Association, at
899.5580. Jim is willing to help tailor the certificate for any
donor.
