Looking Ahead! Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce has gone through many
changes and growth in the past several years. Two years ago the
Chamber
Board looked at Chamber hosted events and programs and made some hard
decisions to continue or cancel them. This was a long and hard
process, but
we accomplished a lot. In order to be united and to best serve our
community, the CANYON LAKE BOARD OF DIRECTORS and Executive Director
Jaynellen Ladd met on Friday, June 15 for a Board Retreat. President
of the
Texas Association of Business, Art Roberts, facilitated.
Recommendations
were to prioritize the work program and the role of the Chamber. In
progress is the restructuring and reorganizing of the Board, the by-
laws,
policies and procedures plus the implementation of Task Force
Committees.
Plans are to create a positive economic impact in our community while
keeping on task with our Mission Statement, which is also being
reevaluated.
The Annual Membership Meeting will be held on September 18th this
year, with
the location to be determined. The new direction will be revealed at
that
time. We need the help of strong leaders in our community! If you
would
like to participate in a Task Force sub-committee or would like to
discuss
volunteer opportunities, please contact Jaynellen Ladd at 830.964.2223
Monday - Friday.

KLRN PLEDGE DRIVE
CANYON LAKE NIGHT
AUGUST 1ST, 2007
7:30-9:30
KLRN hosts their Pledge Drive three times per year. The one coming up
is
the first week of August. Canyon Lake will help answer phones for
Wednesday
August 1st. We would need 12-16 volunteers from 7:30pm-9:30pm. It is
only
one group per night, so we could put up our Canyon Lake Friendly signs
and
wear our shirts and it would just be us to promote our area! We are
also
looking for someone to wear our catfish mascot that evening! The
groups
answer the phones during the times we are LIVE on the air which is
only from
8pm-9:30 that night. That evening they are showing Blue Man Group and
everyone says it is the fun night. Let me know if ya'll might be
interested. Please call Jaynellen Ladd - 830-963-2223.
