will continue to be accepted at the Chamber.

in order of arrival, to follow the dedicated line-up!
CHRISTMAS PARADE & FLYOVER submitted by Robert Maxwell Case
The 28th Annual Canyon Lake Christmas Parade will be held on the second
Saturday of December, December 9, 2006, starting at 11:00 a.m. Last
year's parade was watched by a crowd of more than 1000 and included
dozens of parade units, many of which will be returning this year.
Grand Marshall of this year's parade is Comal County Sheriff Bob
Holder. Startzville Realtor Jeani Richie of Mickey Ferrell Realtors
will again be Master of Ceremonies. Linda Epley of Canyon Bend Storage
and Robert Maxwell Case, Entertainer, return to the Parade Committee.
Numerous participants and sponsors are letting us know they will be a
part of the parade again this year.
The Entry Form is available at www.canyonlakechamber.com. You may fax
your application to 830-964-2223. Prize categories will be "Christmas
Past," "Christmas Present," and "Christmas Future."
As usual the Chamber reserves the right to have the one and only Santa
Claus. Let's make the 28th Annual Canyon Lake Christmas Parade the best
one yet!
In addition to the Christmas Parade, enjoy a FLYOVER of vintage
aircraft by the Central Texas Wing of the Commemorative Air Force,
weather permitting! The following planes are, at this time, planning
to take part: Two CJ6's (Yack 18's), the B-25 and two T6's.
Sponsorships for this FLYOVER are needed for this wonderful part of the
Christmas Parade! Contact Linda at the Chamber to contribute at
830-964-2223.
A Great Big Thank You to the following Businesses/Associates that are
so generously sponsoring the Commemorative Air Force (WWII) plane
flyover for the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 9, 2006.

"LOOKING AT THE LAKE" KGNB 1420 AM Radio Show, Thursday, 1:00 PM
Tune in on Thursdays at 1:00pm to KGNB 1420 AM to listen to "Looking
at the Lake", our thirty-minute show focused on local issues, news,
membership, announcements and events going on for the upcoming 7-day
period. We offer our members the opportunity to sponsor this show each
week. The sponsor's spot is a 'dedicated 8-minutes' plus four
15-second mentions throughout the program. Write your own script,
perform it yourself, or we will have someone present it for you. We
began a new 13-week cycle of shows last week and are still seeking
Sponsors for December and January. As a sponsor, you would host one
show every four weeks (approximately) and be billed after each show
airs. A previous cost for this show was $300 per show. We entered into
a new commitment with KGNB for one year! With the new commitment, our
new cost for each show is $250. This is a great deal and the Chamber
passes on the savings to you by charging exactly what we are charged.
People are talking about "Looking at the Lake" and how listening
truly informs one of what is going on in the lake area. The show
reflects growth and sparks interest in local events. This show also
clearly helps to define the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce as one of
the most active chambers in this part of Texas. Consensus says we are
FRIENDLY! If you are interested in securing a spot to promote your
business throughout Comal, Hayes and Guadalupe Counties to over 65,000
listeners, please contact Jaynellen Ladd at 830-964-2223 or by email to
exe...@canyonlakechamber.com. Take advantage of this specially
priced deal for Chamber Members, and make that plan to gain exposure
for your business today!
'STARS OVER CANYON LAKE' Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce invites
you to participate in the "Stars Over Canyon Lake" Christmas
Project by lighting up stars at your business. We have been fortunate
this year to have the generous commitment from Pedernales Electric
Cooperative to hang and supply electricity plus the hook ups for
lighted STARS in each town - Hancock, Startzville and Sattler, plus
hang Christmas Tree pole decorations, too! We are also fortunate we
have received all twelve sponsorships for the first TWELVE STARS in our
long-range program to join together the Lake area with lighted stars at
Christmas-time! That is a pure sign of people coming together to
achieve a community-minded goal! In an effort to show even more
festive spirit plus benefit two local non-profit organizations ($10
from the sale of each star), we invite all businesses in the area to
light up your business in seasonal attire by purchasing specially made
lighted STARS from Tish's Décor & More (964-6050), or simply
decorate with your own lights and stars. Next year we hope to add to
the 'Sponsored Collection'. Thank you to those who chose to
Sponsor a STAR, and to those who wanted to, but the goal was fulfilled!
Get behind the Project and Light Up Canyon Lake!

The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is embarking on a
significant construction program to preserve and protect their
national-class site of dinosaur tracks. Plans include a 15,000
square-foot "Track Barn" to protect the tracks from the elements
plus an amphitheater and walkways to allow visitors to enjoy the sight
of the tracks and learn about these creatures that roamed our area 100
million years ago. The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is
making a special effort to enroll new business members to the Museum.
This is an important demonstration of local support in their
applications for grants from area foundations such as Kronkosky and San
Antonio Area Foundation to which they have recently applied. The
Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is a 501(C)(3) organization
dedicated to the collection and preservation of the rich heritage of
the Texas Hill Country. Current fund raising efforts are directed
toward the preservation of a national-class site of dinosaur tracks by
the construction of a 15,000 square-foot "Track Barn" to protect
the tracks from weathering processes. The front side of the structure
will be designed to resemble a Hill Country barn with wood siding and a
metal roof to blend in with the planned " Heritage Garden " with
pioneer and farm structures. A Native Plant Trail has already been
constructed by the Lindheimer Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists
and there are plans to expand this trail as rainfall permits. Please
give them your support" and join! The Museum is open seven days a

Generally, appreciation means some blend of thankfulness, admiration,
approval, and gratitude. In the financial world, something that
"appreciates" grows in value. With the power tool of appreciation, you
get the benefit of both perspectives: as you learn to be consistently
thankful and approving, your life will grow in value. ~ Doc Childre and
Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
