Hi,
I just became aware of the canvas wrapper libraries cakejs
http://code.google.com/p/cakejs/

and processing.js
http://processingjs.org/

Are these candidates for being used by canviz to offload some
complexity and add functionality (like animation)?

With the announcement of canvas support for IE9 things are looking up.
