Any memory tuning tips? 25gb of mem used in a 7305 student instance

Curious if you have any tips on tuning the memory usage of Canvas.
As the student count climbs, it seems like all the database data gets stored in the RAM permanently. We blow out the suggested 8gb of memory after a hundred students or so.
Any way to tune the major memory hog - redis?

Don't use Redis or config set maxmemory maxmemory-policy to Redis.
