kaltura and canvas setup

Hi,

I am trying to integrate Kaltura with canvas and followed the Kaltura setup wiki (https://github.com/instructure/canvas-lms/wiki/Kaltura-setup-instructions). I was able to log in to KMC and upload videos after the install, but after setting up canvas plugin and try to capture some video from canvas messaging tool I get error as unable to connect to server with no error message on the canvas log file. I have tried to add kaltura server notification to canvas for the create and delete but the ping fails. It also totally broke the Kaltura and It does not work anymore. I am trying to fix this problem for sometime without any success. 

 I am looking for someone to work with us as a consultant to setup kaltura and canvas and produce video from canvas and upload it to Kaltura. Does anyone here successfully setup Kaltura 3.0 CE and make it work properly with canvas?

Hey Mani - I got it working, but Kaltura seems to be a big pain.  If you were working in a virtualized environment like AWS or the machine you have Kaltura installed on somehow had it's URL changed, Kaltura will stop working.  There is some voodoo to get it back in business though - I used these instructions successfully: http://www.kaltura.org/preinstalled-kaltura-ce-migration-other-domain

I'm not sure about troubleshooting your Canvas to Kaltura connection, but maybe that link will help you get back into business with Kaltura at least.

Hey Clayton,

I also have the same issue as Mani , I don't understand what would be notification service url in KMC and if i put
http://your_canvas_domain/media_objects/kaltura_notifications, where domain name would be my canvas domain name, as notification url  it fails to ping.
Please help me to figure it out.

Apologies Kiran, I haven't worked with Canvas in over 2 years and barely remember the various steps done to make Kaltura integrate successfully. You'll need to find someone else to help.
