Legacy Analytics Removed, New Analytics, Analytics repo, and Self-Hosted Canvas

Hello,

I understand that legacy analytics was removed in Canvas with the 2205-07-19 release:  https://community.instructure.com/en/discussion/647753/canvas-release-notes-2025-07-19#deprecation-of-legacy-course-analytics

I also understand that the New Analytics isn't available in the self-hosted open source edition:  https://github.com/instructure/canvas-lms/wiki/FAQ

That leaves a couple questions:

1. Anything we can do to get "Analytics" option back on our left nav?

2. If not, then do we still need to include gems/plugins/analytics from https://github.com/instructure/analytics when we build and compile Canvas? Seems like that is no longer needed if legacy analytics was removed and we'd be safe to exclude it.

1. no way

2. its still collects data for users page_view. it's up to you keep it or remove.
