Hi,

When I attempt to make a color or logo change in the Theme Editor, the progress bar only proceeds a little and I get the error message "An error occurred trying to generate this theme, please try again." after clicking the "Preview Your Changes" bottom. Have any of you here also experienced this issue and willing to give me some suggestions? I have also included a screenshot of the error message.

Thanks,
John

If you're self-hosted, check your log/delayed_job.log and log/production.log files; you'll likely find an actual error message in there.

I have already checked them and I did not find any error messages there. I also verified that delayed jobs are running by using the command "/etc/init.d/canvas_init status". I could even send emails out when I invite users to the system or people to the courses so that is another proof that delayed jobs are running.

Right after clicking the "Preview Your Changes", I also checked the delayed_job.log and production.log files and did not find any error messages.

Hi John,

Can you check delayed job have permission to write on this folder   /app/stylesheets/brandable_css_brands/

I have changed the permission setting of that folder to 777 and still run into the issue.

I just got a little further by changing the permission setting of the following folders to 777:

var/canvas/app/stylesheets

var/canvas/public/dist/brandable_css

var/canvas/public/stylesheets

I am now able to get through the Preview mode and make color changes. But my custom branding logo image is still not loading. Instead only a small square box with an x in the middle is displayed.

In other words, I can now make color changes but still not able to change the logos. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
