Canvas LMS and SSO

I have a web application developed in Grails.

I have setup Canvas as per quickstart installation instructions in git hub in a different VM

Is it possible that using oAuth or some other way, i can allow a user in my app to automatically login as student in Canvas LMS and do undertake a course.


or

LTI says Tool consumer (Canvas) can embed my app (tool provider). Can the reverse possible..

Can you share your solution?  I have oAuth working and can see how to integrate an app into Canvas, but I am, like you, interested in the reverse.
