Hi,

some weeks ago, Canvas started behaving weirdly in Chrome. In the login page, 2 text segments appeared in large fonts ( "Log In to Canvas" and "Login") . Then, after login, the top submenus are always displaying and do not disappear in any page/course we enter. In Firefox, everything is as it should be. I'm attaching 2 screenshots as an example of the display.

Did anyone find this kind of problem in Chrome?

Thanks and regards.

Maria

Hey Maria,

looking at the screenshots makes me guess that you are using some external stylesheet to style the login screen?! Did you try to turn of the external stylesheet to test if this is the source of the display problem?

I'm using canvas in Chrome without having display problems ...

Thanks Peter and John.

I did the branding of Canvas instance (replacing the background image with another using my institution logo) some months ago and I followed the instructions on Canvas guides. Everything was ok in all browsers after that, up to 4 weeks ago. Suddenly, the weird characters started displaying in Chrome. I have no idea why this happened. Should I try to make the branding again?

Thanks.

Maria

I would at least try to disable the external css / js (just remove "Global JavaScript and CSS Includes" in settings) to test if this is the reason causing your display problems.
Is it possible to have a look at the login page? Might be easier to find potential problems.
