API for announcements?

Hi all,

Is there a way to make an announcements from command line?
I searched the API docs, https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/index.html, but can't find it.

I think you want the `account_notifications` endpoint. https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/account_notifications.html#method.account_notifications.create

Or the is_announcement option to discussion topics https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/discussion_topics.html#method.discussion_topics.create

(don't ask. I still cry myself tonight about these two things being conflated).

• https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/account_notifications.html — creates global announcements
• https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/discussion_topics.html#method.discussion_topics.create + is_announcement=true — creates course-wide announcements
