Where does canvas store user files?

I am trying to add more storage to my server for user files but I am not sure where I need to add more storage. Do I add it to the database or the canvas app node? How and where does canvas store files? If I have two webserver app nodes where do I attach 1TB to?

Canvas can store files locally or in s3. Check out config/file_store.yml in your app server to see how you have it configured. Note that if you are using a local file store, and you have more than one server, you’ll want to have a shared mount so all servers can access those files.
