Selection Criteria/Conditions

I'm wondering if it's possible to provide some kind of constraint to the API to limit the records being retrieved on a GET.

For example, If I want to get only courses that are for a specific term (supplied by parameter), or perhaps the courses that have a "last changed date" compared to to a parameter value.

Any help with this would be fantastic,
