Presenter: Paul Aston
Many of you will remember Paul from when he was with TourPlan. Paul has offered to do a presentation while he is down here on business, thus the back to back meetings.
Topic: Last year I was involved in two memory saving projects. Both involved webapps that were using hundreds of megabytes of heap space for cached business objects (one webapp is written in .Net and the other in Java). Good results were achieved, and in both cases memory use was reduced to well under 50% of its original level. This talk will give a brief overview of the tools used, and then go on to discuss some of the techniques used to save memory.
