Hello All,
Some of you will know about the recent talk about the FeNZ planning
group. If you are interested but hadn't heard about it look below and
see the messages in successionn and why it's still on the agenda. The
last is a message I posted tonight on the FeNZ forum requesting some
info on specifics, when there's a reply from the exec it'll be on the
FeNZ website www.fencing.org.nz and if anyone notices it please post it
here, if I don't get to it first. Remember to send to this group you
only need to (once you're on the group list) send your message to
canterbury...@googlegroups.com or reply to this message. (If
you're not on the group list it goes into a holding area for me to
clear, that's not a problem unless your name's Henry Obladeoblada Esq.
from Lagos with substantial monies who needs my help to sequester in
the west... I'm not kidding about that one but I didn't send it
through)

Please, I would encourage everyone to participate and send a submission
through to FeNZ (pres...@fencing.org.nz) as this is the best way for
interested people at grassroots level to communicate to the national
executive.

I hope all is well with everyone and the year's off to a good start,
remember to check when your club's starting.
Cheerio,
Nick

"Call for Expressions of Interest in Assisting Our Planning Group"
2007-01-03

We are seeking expressions of interest from current FeNZ members and/or
parents of members to contribute and assist our planning group
formulate a new future and direction for FeNZ.

Fencing New Zealand will be conducting a Planning Group Meeting over
the week-end of 19-21 January 2007. We will include several of our
organisations' general members and/or parents in the Planning Group
and process.

We are looking for people who are excited by fencing, passionate about
the sport, love to see the sport progress, have a special area of
interest or expertise that may be of benefit to FeNZ planning and
management. If this is you or you know someone who is, then please
contact Martin Brill ( pres...@fencing.org.nz ) .

In order to manage the smooth functioning of the Planning Group we
reserve the right to limit the number of participants with out
prejudice.

The FeNZ executive will advise in due course of the Planning Group
participants.

Martin Brill, President, Fencing New Zealand

"Planning Group - Change"
2007-01-19

Due to the positive response to planning, the executive have chosen to
change the planning approach so as to ensure everyone who wishes to
participate can have the opportunity to present ideas and to allow all
suggestions to be fully considered. The current time table would have
resulted in having to limit discussions, consideration and the planning
effectiveness due to time constraints. This limitation was considered
to be inappropriate as we wish to appropriately accommodate everyone in
the process.

Consequently, the executive will form a Planning Group with several
seconded members who will engage in a "Planning Preparation". We
will seek preliminary information in written form so it can be
circulated before the planning meetings for wide consideration.

Thank you to everyone for their expression of interest in the planning.
We wish to include as many people as possible in the planning process
in the most effective way we can.

Further details to folllow regarding the next steps.

Martin Brill, President Fencing New Zealand

Dear FeNZ Exec.
Re: the change to the planning group process.

Can you please provide some guidance as to the following please;
1) When will we need to have our submissions submitted?
2) How comprehensive would you recommend our submissions to be for this
stage in the planning process, presumably this would be a preliminary
round of brief submissions before full consultation about ideas?
3) Are there any specific areas you'd like us to critique?
4) Are you planning to release the material for general consideration
and subsequent feedback; I think this would be very valuable.
5) Would it be possible to communicate in additional ways to this
website as I only noticed on here today about the change in plans and
I'm sure others would be in a similar situation if they're not always
online or happen to neglect this site, after all we wouldn't want to
miss out.

Thanks very much,
Good luck with the planning everybody.
Regards,
Nicholas Hill
