Hello,

is there a possibility in Cantera to simulate the injection of a
liquid into a gas filled reactor (e. g. Diesel-injection)?
All the diffusion-flame tutorials and demos are only dealing with gas
phase inlets.

Thanks for help.

Hello,

I do not know about such a feature and recommend to program it on your
own. It is easy to remove the latent heat of evaporation from your
reactor. Anything else, e.g. atomization, is way beyond the scope of
Cantera and is difficult to handle even with CFD software.

For that purpose you should look into OpenFoam (http://
www.openfoam.com/) which is a free/open source CFD tool-box which
includes sub-models for liquid phase injection (droplet break-up,
evaporation etc) as well as it enables coupling to Cantera for
handling combustion chemistry.

kind regards

Anders
