Dear Cantera User' group,

For my master thesis I am trying to obtain the methane conversion ratio for methane pyrolysis under varying temperatures and pressures. Hopefully someone can help me out a little!

I would like to create a similar graph to the following one from this research https://
Cantera METHANE CONVERSION RATIO vs TEMPERATURE.PNG

Methane pyrolysis applies the following formula, CH4 <=> C(s) + 2H2, and I would like to program the conversion rate (in other words the equilibrium) under varying temperature and pressure. Does anyone knows where I can find a similar example or would have some advice on how to approach the problem?

As you probably noticed my Cantera knowledge is limited so your help would be truly amazing and maybe even essential!

Thanks a lot in advance,

Aike

I have a bunch of biomass pyrolysis examples at https://github.com/ccpcode/kinetic-schemes. It's not methane pyrolysis but it might give you a good idea of how to setup your problem in Cantera.

Cool, thanks a lot Gavin! I will have a look and hopefully it will bring me a little closer to the right answer
