Hi,
I just install Cantera 2.3 on my system, windows 10 using python interface when I test the version with  a constant volume  reactor simulation I get an import error shown below. Anybody with helpful advice  on how to fix this  error.

 import cantera as ct
  File "C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages\cantera\__init__.py", line 4, in <module>
    from ._cantera import *
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

Thank you.

Hi Oku,

Can you please let us know how you installed the interface? Did you select all the defaults in the installer? Did you uninstall the old version first?

Regards,
Bryan

Dear Bryan,

I had to reinstall  cantera 2.3 this time  not selecting the development tools but the problems still persist. Testing with matlab interface while converting chemkin to cti I got  this error  Invalid MEX-file 'C:\Program Files\Cantera\matlab\toolbox\ctmethods.mexw64':  The specified module could not be found’. I needed to confirm  if  wctmethods.mexw64  was in the folder which I saw but not been read.

Thank you.

Oku,

I am guessing that you have not installed the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. This is explained in step 3 of the installation instructions.

Ray

Hi Ray,

The version of visual studio  2015 work what I initially had on my system was version 2010.But my problem has not yet been solved . The reason I updated to Cantera 2.3 is to see how I could fix   an error(cantera.ck2cti.InputParseError: Error parsing elemental composition for species 'C7H13') I got trying to  convert a chemkin file into cti. When I looked at the previous post for similar issue I found one which  you recommended getting the updated ck2cti.py which I did but the problem still persist. I feel with   Cantera 2.3  the error would be  fixed since it is newer version with updated ck2cti.py. Please how can the error mention above be solved.

Thank you.

Oku.
