Hello everyone,

I am an aerospace engineering student and I'm new to Cantera. I am working on my final project in order to obtain my degree, using Cantera's Matlab toolbox.

The project consists on mathematical models of all components of a bipropellant liquid-rocket engine that will be combined later on to obtain a model for the whole engine.

What I need is not exactly a simulation, but only the results of the calculation of combustion gases' parameters that are useful for determining the expansion of such gases in the nozzle (i.e.: gas constant, temperature, pressure, specific heat, molar mass), and it is not very clear in Cantera's Documentation or examples.

I am using three different Fuel/Oxidizer combinations: Monomethylhydrazine-Dinitrogen Tetroxide, Liquid Hydrogen-Liquid Oxygen and RP-1-Liquid Oxygen.

I am using Cantera 2.2.1 with Ubuntu 14.04

Thanks in advance,
Juan

Dear Juan,

Please see the Tutorial in the documentation, and in particular, the section about chemical equilibrium: http://cantera.github.io/docs/sphinx/html/cython/tutorial.html#chemical-equilibrium http://cantera.github.io/docs/sphinx/html/matlab/tutorials/tut4.html

That should get you most of what you need.

Best,
Bryan

Dear Bryan,

Thanks, I managed to obtain some results. It turned out that I had a problem with my thermodynamics data, rather than my understanding of what is stated in the documentation. It works neatly now.

Best regards,
Juan
