Hi Everyone,

I am using the MP1 and BFER2 reaction mechanisms from the Cantera users guide: http://www.cerfacs.fr/cantera/mechanisms/meth.php and have two questions:

1) For 2S_CH4_BFER the correct reference appears to be: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0010218011002525 - However, they do not state what "BFER" stands for (or the Kerosene paper they reference). Does anyone know this?

2) Does anyone know the reference for the 1S_CH4_MP1 mechanism? I can not seem to find it in the literature.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I used those guys' propane mechanism before and I thought that BFER was the first two initials of the two authors who presented the scheme to generate such global steps. They name mechanisms produced with that code by BFER...

Now sure about MP1, but if it were a trivia quiz, I would guess some modification of Mauss and Peters, who published a book chapter in the 80's on CH4 mechansims...

Santosh

Thanks Santosh,

I will do some more research with those hints and post the results if I figure anything out.

I spent the better part of an afternoon looking, but no luck on these.

The trail on the BFER scheme ends at the kerosene paper referenced in  http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0010218011002525. The Kerosene paper references three others that are single step models, that use a stoichiometry modified preexponential term (this seems to be the commonality between the BFER approaches), but I cannot find any more after that.

On MP1, I was unable to find any more. I was able to view part of the book chapter by Mauss and Peters, but I did not see anything on global single-step models. I also searched a bunch of other literature for single-step models and could not find anything referencing Mauss and Peters either.

If anyone has any other thoughts or figures it out, let me know!

Hi,

did you have luck finding references for the 1S_CH4_MP1 mechanism?
