Dear Members of the Cantando@Bloem Executive Committee.
It is with regret and with great sadness, that I too will need to resign from the Choir.
In view of the changes forth coming, and I wish both Choir leaders, former and future, everything of the best for the future. It is sad that Werner has seen it fit to leave our midst, but I wish him every good wish in his chosen career and shall follow his progress very closely. I have found it a great joy to be able to sing under his baton.
For the new Choir leader, although not knowing her personally, I too wish her every good wish for leading the choir in the standard we have recently achieved.
My reason for resigning is that I shall be away overseas for 6 months, as of end March 2021 (provided UK borders are open to SA flights). My daughter is expecting their second baby and I am going to re-unite with that part of my family. By the time I return I have lost too much valuable practice time.
According to the Constitution I will possibly be too “old” to be accepted back into the choir after my return.
My next question is: I had paid up fully for my membership for 2020 in January last year. It was said that these fees would be carried over for this year. Am I entitled to a refund of any sort?
I wish you all much success in the future and will enjoy listening to you in future. I have thoroughly enjoyed my brief membership and will always have singing as a part of my heart.
