We've just published a new beta that evolves Annotate PRO to include a new optional feature: Assist. We're also experimenting with rebranding Annotate PRO (AP) to become Canopy in recognition that AP is now about far more than annotating documents (which is where it all started).

Assist can help you draft narrative responses to student work, using detailed rubrics and instructions you provide, and query your LMS to synthesize and report information.

What’s NEW in the beta?
1. We've rebranded Annotate PRO to Canopy, reflecting AP's expanded feature set and use cases. For instance, Feedback Forms, automated Translation, Dynamic Rubrics, and now Assist.
2. Aside from the name, the most significant branding change is the renaming of "Comments" to be "Templates". Templates can be used to insert comments into documents but also to insert pre-written text into emails or discussions, create complex marking/grading forms and even Dynamic Rubrics that calculate a score based on your choices.

Will I see my regular AP content (that I’ve worked so hard to create!)?
- Absolutely. The beta version connects to the same data as the regular version of AP. Just log in with your regular credentials.
How do I provide feedback, report issues, ask questions?
- Share feedback/bugs/questions/ideas via the form on the Canopy Beta page. For bugs/issues/ideas, include screenshots and steps to reproduce (if possible). We regularly provide individuals with a year’s access to all paid features and content as a small “thank you” for finding bugs and providing feedback our solutions. We love to hear from our users.
How do I get updates to the beta?
- If you have the beta installed you’ll get automatic updates to the beta just like the production version of AP.
Can I keep the production version of AP installed while I use the beta?
- You can happily run both the production version of AP and the beta at the same time. Make sure to disable production if using the beta and vice versa. Visit chrome://extensions/ and toggle one of your APs off or uninstall the production version of AP. In the screenshot below we have toggled ON the AP beta (6.2.b) and toggled OFF the production version.
