Hello Group,
I'm looking to port Swyftware to the Android platform.
My background. I'm a professional tech developer who has been around Forth since FIG held
meetings in a food court at a Hayward California shopping mall.
Currently, I'm wrapping up a for pay firmware contract project. For my next tech effort,
while seeking my next paying gig, is learning about and doing Android Apps for the
Amazon fire line of products; tablets, TV, and phone.
So please suppress your *flames* on the my choice of initial target OS. Raspberry Pi
and Apple's iOS may be done later.
I see a four part personal project:
* Exposure and understanding of the Android development environment and OS internals
* Re-create a underlying Forth engine for Swyftware using the Android OS internals
* Apply the original Swyfyware application, with minimum modifications to the new engine
* Consider and create new additions and modifications to the initial design
What I'm looking for from the Group's members is the following:
a) Who has an interest in being a tester, reviewer, or just user of this initial attempt?
b) Are there other developers interested in creating topic specific Apps to run on top of the Android Swyftware engine/base?
c) Hearing and open for discussion of other ideas related to this specific topic of porting Swyftware to COTS hardware.
Thank you, and looking forward to reading your messages.
Bruce
