Good afternoon Derrick,
I hope you are doing well. I serve as the Health Professional Hub Coordinator for Way Forward at Eastern Michigan University. We met years back when I was employed at Washtenaw Literacy. We train high school students to be peer health educators in traumatic brain injuries. We are seeking opportunities for our students to provide engaging presentations to their peers to spread awareness around prevention and protection for TBIs.
I have always appreciated that CAN does a great job of informing neighborhood residents with different resources that are available in the community. Does CAN still offer after-school programming at various sites? If so, we would love the opportunity to have our peer health educators visit a site to provide an engaging TBI presentation. If you think this would be beneficial to your students, can we schedule a meeting to further discuss our programming and how we can collaborate?
Thank you for your consideration,
Liz Garaba
