Hi all,

Would any of you be interested in being a point person for CAN on this potential resource for our families?

Thank you.

Derrick

Hi Derrick,

I am not sure if you remember me, but we met a while back at an OSI collaborator's meeting.

Thanks for your patience as the City was confirming that we could offer a program to the Ann Arbor community centers with our contract funds.

We were given approval to offer our 30-Day Plant-Based Pledge program to the community centers, if it works on your end.

The 30-Day Plant-Based Pledge is where individuals who are open to adding more plant-based meals into their routine for a month receive a FREE bag of 3 plant-based food items and an email once a week with tips, recipes, and information about how eating more plant-based foods is good for your health and the environment.

We could either promote the pledge in advance with posters/flyers/email messages and have people sign-up in advance with a predetermined location and 2-hour window for when they can pick-up their bag of food  or we can set-up a table at the community center during a specific time when we think it'll be busy and people can sign-up on the spot and receive their FREE bag of plant-based food items. (We can also have a combination where some people sign-up in advance and we bring extra for on-site sign-ups.)

The food items can vary, but they generally include items such as: Beyond burgers, Beyond Chi'kn, Non-dairy yogurt, original oatmilk, michigan beans, vegan mac n' cheese, Black Bean chili, Not-Chicken-Noodle soup, frozen cauliflower-riced stir-fry, and tofu.

If this is something you would be open to working with me on to bring to the Ann Arbor community centers please let me know.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or we can set-up a 30 min meeting (phone call or virtual) to discuss further.

I am available for a meeting at any of the following times:
Friday May 29: 11:45 am - 12:30 am
Tuesday June 2: 10 am - 12 pm or 3 pm - 4:30 pm
Thurs. June 4: 9 am - 4 pm
Tuesday June 9: 4:15 pm

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks,
Kim

Hi Derrick,

It was really nice to meet you at the collaborator's meeting last Friday. I hope that you had a good week.

I am following up to let you know that I have asked the City about the potential of hosting cooking classes at Ann Arbor Community Centers and I am waiting to hear if our contract funds can be applied to this type of programming.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am looking into it. Thank you for being open to discussing this idea. I will be in touch when I hear back from the City.

Have a good weekend,
Kim

I think this sounds really cool and like it would be pretty simple to tack onto existing distributions. I think it probably makes more sense for a site director to be the contact point, but I'm happy to help coordinate if people are interested.
