I've been trying to figure out why I was having problems with some yahoo functions, and have tracked it to LinkThing 2.0.26. This is in Safari 5.1.4, I haven't tried it in another browser.

When in the Mail window, I click Options>Mail Options. In the left sidebar are several links, such as General, Signature, Filters, POP and Forwarding.
When LinkThing is enabled, every time I click one of this links, I get an error page. After disabling LinkThing, the links work correctly.

I expected the problem to be from an extension like AdBlock or Plugin Customs, not LinkThing, but it's definitely the latter.

The first image shows the sidebar and what should be seen after clicking POP and Forwarding. Second image shows what is seen with LinkThing enabled.
Third image shows my LinkThing settings (default settings used in the other tab).

Hi,

I see you have the option "Onsite links open in" set to "The current tab" in the General settings. For whatever reason, this is causing problems with those links you described.

To avoid the problem without changing that global setting, you can simply change the equivalent site-specific setting to "(Let the site decide)". Of course, that will mean you won't have any control over where onsite links on that site will open.

A caveat: the site-specific settings are based on the exact hostname of a site. On my computer just now, when I opened Yahoo Mail, it used the hostname "us.mg4.mail.yahoo.com". That "mg4" part might change sometimes, I guess. If that happens, the site-specific setting you made won't apply, and you'll need to make a new site-specific setting.

I will look into whether I can change the way LinkThing works to prevent this kind of problem, but I'm not optimistic about my chances.

I managed to find a way to rework LinkThing slightly so that those Yahoo Mail links should work even with the settings you had before (and no site-specific settings). The 2.0.27 update is out now; please check it out.
